There was a time when camera companies took advantage of consumers’ ingnorance and advertised that more megapixel, better the camera. Then some consumers got smarter and they realized their photos are not better. Now everyone know that having more megapixels doesn’t mean it is a better camera.
But some think they are the only one who know this secret and everyone else is doesn’t. And they will ask you how many megapixels is your new camera and then they will tell you this camera secret and say megapixels more than 5 (or whatever number they read somewhere) don’t matter.
If you want to have some fun, ask them how megapixels don’t matter and then enjoy laughing at their explanation.
A lot of people say that they are indecisive but I don’t think they are. They always know what they don’t want, they just don’t care what they get. For example, typical conversations with my friends who don’t know what they want but know for sure what they don’t want:
Me: I don’t care you decide what you want to eat.
Friend: I don’t care either. Whatever you want.
Me: Okay how about Jack in the Box? It’s quick & cheap.
Friend: Nah, come on man, it’s unhealthy!
Me: Well then let’s go to Subway.
Friend: Nah, Subway is the blandest food ever!
Me: You said you don’t care…
Friend: Any place but not fast food or Subway…
Me: Okay how about we do starvation challenge, let’s see who lasts longest without eating?
Friend: Okay let’s go to Subway
Me: Let’s do it
I would love this day expect that I grew in Pakistan where this day is really, really hated by everyone. No one is sure why. Some people suspect it has to do something with an English guy playing a prank on a King Akbar by hiding King’s gun when he was outon tiger hunt.
Anyways initially this day was not hated so much, and from what I heard from my great-grand father, he used to be one of the pranksters on April 1st. But when my great grandfather was 12 or so on 1st April, 1467, Gandhi condemned this day because it celebrates fools. Some says he was just joking. Around same time, parents & teachers in Pakistan start beating their kids in advance, before they get a chance to play any pranks. Probably cause in evening parents would be too tired to beat them. Slowly it became tradition to beat your kids with bamboo stick while they are still sleeping in morning. That’s why April 1st is called the day of Big Stick in Pakistan.
So now every kid dreads April 1st in Pakistan but when they have kids they do same thing. I still remember early morning beatings like as if it was just yesterday. Today some of my high school friends were telling me about how they gave a good beating to their kids. I was so jeolous. Cannot wait until its my turn to give some beating.
Happy April Fool’s Day! & Kids in Pakistan, enjoy Day of Big Stick. Your turn will come soon.
I ran out of shaving cream this morning. So I was going to buy more shaving cream at Walgreen when I got an idea. What if I use Nair. Its cream that I can put on my face in morning and then I can brush, take care of other stuff and after a few minutes just remove the cream. It will save a whole 5 minute in morning. And you know, how precious is each minute in the morning.
Well I ended up buying Nair instead of a shaving cream. Before applying it on my face I called some of my lady friends, but no one uses Nair, they just shave. However, one of my guy friend had used Nair before. (Not on himself but on his roommate. He applied it to his ex-roommates head while he was passed out). So I called him, he advised against using it because it can burn the skin.
But I still wanted to see if it can work. Extra 5 minutes could revolutionize every guy’s morning. And I just wasn’t feeling like going back to Walgreen to return a women’s hair removal cream. Instructions on the bottle said that you need to apply a thick layer on the desired area and leave it there for minimum of three minutes and maximum of ten minutes. So I applied a finger tip sized layer on my chin waited for 3 minutes, there was some tingling feeling. After 3 minutes I removed the cream and washed the area. It didn’t remove any hair.
I was a little bit disappointed but I decided to try one more time. This time I applied thicker & wider layer and left it on for 7 minutes. I was planning to leave it on for 10 minutes but after 7 minutes tingling sensation had become burning sensation. Remembering what my friend had said earlier, I removed the cream. Still there was no effect. I guess men’s or facial hair are just too thick to get disolved in Nair.
So i failed in my grand experiment. Anyways there is only one thing now, my skin feels extra sensitive, almost as if it was burned. well, at least, I got an excuse for not shaving tomorrow morning
