Al Pacino goes all in as Tony Montana, an immigrant who claws his way to the top of the drug world and then loses himself completely. It’s loud, excessive, and over the top, but that’s the point.
It’s a long movie, and parts of it drag, but the rise-and-fall arc works. Greed eats Tony alive, and the ending is exactly as messy as it should be. A classic for a reason.
4/5 stars.
